update on Mom
The latest installment in the WarrenFamily Saga of Comedic Tragedies.
[Tragedy because horrible things keep happening. Comedic because we immediately start laughing when something bad happens.]
Last night, Dad took Mom into the ER because she was having symptoms of a heart attack. Almost immediately after being seen, the doctors decided that it was bad enough to admit her for the night. They did the usual cardio workup--ECG, chest xray, and stress test. They obviously could not due a regular stress test on the treadmill because of her broken leg. So they did the nuclear test and injected chemicals to make her heart do some tricks. Mom said that stress test was very rough and never wants to do it again in her life. (We're hoping she doesn't have to...) The doctors said that the results of that test showed some evidence of blockage in the arteries surrounding her heart, so they decided to keep her through tonight instead of letting her go today.
Tomorrow (hopefully in the morning), the doctors will be inserting a heart catheter to check for blockage. If they do find blockage, we think they will proceed with the balloon thing which we think is called an angioplasty...? Someone can correct that if I'm wrong. The heart catheter test will take approximately 6-8 hours so we're expecting them to keep her through tomorrow night also.
Mom is in good spirits, we took her some food, her laptop, movies, and lots of books to keep her busy. Dad is being the incredible husband that he always is and staying with her all day every day, getting her whatever she needs (and doesn't need... : ). He is very exhausted from all of this and obviously worried.
We're all fine over here at the house. Everyone's doing their schoolwork but occasionally trying to get out of doing a math lesson... :) COG Church, as always, never ceases to amaze us by how loving and attentive and kind they are to us. If you do not have a church who loves you and bears your burdens with you, you need to find one. You don't know what you're missing.
Please pray with us as we walk through yet another health struggle in our family...
Pray that there will be no blockage in Mom's arteries or veins. Pray that they will find the source of the problems and that they will be quickly taken care of. Pray that she will stay comfortable in the hospital and will be able to SLEEP well. Pray that the LORD will give her peace about the upcoming procedures/surgeries/tests and their outcomes.
Pray that Dad will have the strength he needs to stay with Mom and take care of her. Pray that he will get the rest he needs and that he won't worry about what will happen.
Pray for us and the Russells and we sit at home and just...wait. There's not much we can do besides that, so pray that we will have patience and peace as we await phone calls from Dad.
Praise the LORD with us that Dad and Mom raised us to be able to handle struggles like this and to fight through them together as a family. Praise the LORD for giving us a church like COG and for the amazing blessing they are to us.
Pray that, most of all, the LORD will be glorified through all of this and that we will be an example to everyone watching of how to rely on Him and His strength.
God is sovereign.
For everyone,

Our newest family addition, Judah Knox, was born to Annie and Caleb early this morning, weighing in at a tiny 6 lbs, 13 oz! It was a long labor for Annie, and we are all proud of her and thankful to both of them for adding to our tribe. Most of all we are thankful to a gracious God for new life and a healthy baby. Hopefully there will be pictures soon on one of the blogs!

We got next
Because we weren't consulted for the original post, here are a few REAL warrenisms... (yes this list is long, shut up because we all know you wish you had it this good)

- You were truly afraid of the China Doll
- You remember when Dad regularly drank ice milk and Mom drank Tab

- You had a great-great-grandparent live long enough to see you
- You remember playing "Geeks", and no, we won't explain it to you
- At one point in your life you thought your real parents were in Africa, John and Cathi were your siblings, and it almost sent you into therapy
- You either accused another sister of being adopted or were dumb enough to be convinced of that yourself
- You remember when dessert was pear halves filled with Miracle Whip and topped with cheddar cheese
- The parting of the Red "C" is in no way affiliated with Moses or the Israelites
- You remember when Mom used to pick grey hairs out of Dad's head
- Most of your Sunday (and even some of your weekday) wardrobe was handmade by Mom
- You know who really made up "Scunny School", and the original context of "Grrr in Baby"
- You remember the emergence of "Dot"

who are you gonna listen to when you're lookin' for somethin' to do?
You know you're a member of the Warren family IF...
- You constantly make Robot jokes
- Quoting movie lines is a sport at which you must excell
- You feel guilty asking Dad to buy something for you at full price
- You had to start out with an AOL email address
- You consider anyone who does not love The Princess Bride to be heathen
- You have seriously considered investing in earplugs after being in the same room with Kristen, Dirk, and a football game
- You would never dream of giving your child or niece/nephew anything but a chocolate cupcake on his/her first birthday
- Every birthday is on a Tuesday or a Thursday
- You sometimes have to say five or six names before getting the right person
- You understand the importance of Assembly Lines
- You know that saying "Big Pants" is worse than saying "Dummy"
- You only know two shades of pink: Blush and Bashful
- You have added or subtracted at least one rule from every game
- You still have a few extra LEAKSTRONG bracelets
- You can spell Feijoada
- You're still holding a grudge because Shelley was the only one that ever got an EZ Bake Oven
- It's normal to IM someone in the next room
- When talking to Nathan, you try to dominate the conversation as much as possible, for fear he'll start talking about his band. Again.
- You constantly have to recount how many people are in your immediate family
- You used to think that saying N*Stink and Backwash Boys was playful
- The children in the family have all threatened to take you to court over the Dreaded Wooden Spoon
- It doesn't surprise you that John Caleb has edited Wikipedia
- Your biggest earthquake fear is "What if Aubrey's shelves fall and all her teapots break??"
- You tell Mom you want something, and the next day she'll have found it for $10 cheaper on Amazon or eBay
- Annie is STILL the bride
- Your mother knows more about the Internet than you do
- You've gotten laryngitis from singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
- Or you've ruptured an eardrum listening to it
- You just might need to be taken to the ER if you ever saw Beth in a dress
- Your father, husband, brothers-in-law, or sons-in-law have done most of the home improvements at your house
- All the kids feel squeamish going into the pantry
- You've called someone a "Miserable Vomitous Mass" or a "Warthog-faced Buffoon"
- You once told a sibling that they weren't invited to your wedding
- Calling Shotgun or Sideseat always meant war
- People look at you funny when you ask them to throw something in the "lixu"

sailing over wave and tide, oh, fantastic waves against the sides of the hull
Last Sunday the Papa took the B team (minus Beth) and Michelle (Emily ditched us as well) out to Canyon Lake on the pontoon boat. Mom requested pictures on the family blog.
Tim was the first one in the water
holding on for dear life
as the seamonster appeared from behind him
and all the kids laugh
