Wont you lie down in the September grass?

umm. I wish I could. I am typing lest I fall asleep and my children become prey to the television, gamecube, and the hot fudge sauce in the frig. Any of you been up w/ 4 coughing children all night? Seeing as how hardly anyone has 4 (much less 6!) children these days, Im guessing the answer is NO. I am betting that even my own saintly mother never was up w/ 4 children at once and she had 9! D and I love having 6 children but its weeks like this one where we look at each other bleary-eyed and ask, "Who signed us up for this"? --dirksgirl

I know this doesn't compare, but I was up with a throwing up baby all night too. Its sad when she can't keep the vomit from coming out of her nose (sorry so graphic) and then cries because it hurts. What I didn't sign up for was watching my little girl hurt and not be able to do anything about it. Hmph.

ooohh. You win. Like I tell Kristen, vomit is always the worst. Ill take coughing anyday. Kiss only the top of Enin's head for me.

I've already showered her with tons of kisses (which probably just annoy her right now) and for most of the morning she just sat with her head on my chest sucking her thumb. Now I'm at work wishing I was still at home with her... Am I a bad mom?

Well, Annie, the only evidence that exists about your motherhood is that of tender love and total devotion.

Well, Aubrey, you've got double the trouble since my experience stops at three children in three years. But I will always remember the simultaneous sharing of chicken pox which include several long nights of crying, itching, bleeding, and pleading with God to never let anything happen like that again! Then about nine months later they shared strep throat with high fevers, dehydration, and diarrhea. At that point I stopped just stopped pleading and poured my next cup of liquid caffeine. I'm praying for ya... :)

Aubrey, you may remember the experience I had with the A team, MUCH like what Lyric describes here, with chickenpox, strep, and stomach viruses and Dad was gone for three months. I thought I was going to lose my mind! Doris came and rescued me one day and I was sure she was really an angel. Sorry it's been rough. . .come over when you can escape and we'll make something good to drink.

And Annie, that little girl just needs to be around US more, and I see you guys are beginning to take care of that, so I'm expecting that Erin is going to be feeling better very soon :-)

Yeah, substitute teenage boy and I'm in, too. Kendall will be admitted to the hospital next week. His port needs replacing so surgery is on the agenda as well as heavy-duty airway clearance. Lung function was only 30% before albuterol - lowest ever! It's going to be a crazy month! Hugs and prayers to all of you dealing with sick kiddos! I just keep watching the news and realizing we are so blessed. Our sick kids have their own rooms, an abundance of stuff and great medical care/mommies & daddies.

Well I guess with just one kid, I don't much count, but I certainly have been up all night with him. And sleep deprivation is dangerous... in all aspects! I will never forget being in Germany wondering if I would ever sleep again... and it seemed like a completely valid question at the time! lol :)

Sorry to hear the kids are sick, and I sure hope they sleep (Benedryl?) soon and you get some energy back.

And as for Erin... bring her over to California and her cousin will take a couple days off work just to hold a little sweet one again and nurse her back to pre-vomit condition. :)
