The winds of change. . .
. . .are blowing through here. I see bags of stuff going in and out of rooms. . .CJ is paring down and deciding what she wants to take with her. . .other people are poring over the leftovers and plotting what to do with the space she leaves behind. How come it seems like we've never done this before, huh? It's not like we've never had a daughter decide to just up and desert us--we should be pros by now! But NOOOO. . .we have to go and get all weepy and morose every single time. John says we're not gonna let this happen any more. I'm trying to figure out how you do that. . . ~~the Matriarch

It doesn't help that all your kids are smart, attractive, and independent. If you would just raise uneducated, ugly, whiny-babies, then my guess is you'd keep them for life. And in case the above description of your progeny seems teeming with hubris...ok.
OH. . .is that HUBRIS we've been teeming with?
And we have decided NOT to get all weepy and cry...oh wait, that was for when Nathan leaves. Never mind.
Oh, so glad you clarified that John...I'll save the tears for next time!
Can't wait to see your place, CJ!
I'll have you know that I AM a whiny baby.
Well, yes, but I was specifically talking about their "natural" children.
Daaaaaad, tell her to stop saying that!
[To be read in monotone, Ben Stein voice] Kristen, stop saying that.
I am nothing if not responsive to my children's needs.
Now you're in big tut, Kris.
Truth hurts.
Not as much as your punishment will! Better start giving back your quarters now.
Now see there? Shane is only an "ex-oficio" member of the family and HE knows the Way of the Warrens. Fo Shizzle.
Go Shane! we could really use another person to have kitchen duty every night now that cj's gone:-) we can put you on the scheduled cleanup list!! don't you just feel the love at our house?
